GeoPulse Compact OTS
Sub-Bottom Profiler
Side-mounted Sub-Bottom Profiler for shallow
water operation
Lightweight and rugged design
Durable construction withstands demanding environments while remaining easy to handle and deploy.
Output power up to 1 kW
High acoustic output delivers strong signal returns, supporting reliable sub-bottom interpretation.
Low power: 10–30 VDC (30 W)
Low power consumption enables operation from small vessels and portable power sources.
Operates down to 100 m+
Reliable performance across water depths supports consistent data acquisition in varied environments.
Penetration up to 80 m
Deep penetration reveals buried structures and geological layers, supporting confident subsurface interpretation.
Resolution as small as 6 cm
Fine vertical resolution enables clear identification of thin layers and subtle subsurface features.
Lightweight and robust Sub-Bottom Profiler with low power
consumption
The GeoPulse Compact OTS (Over-The-Side) is an advanced high performance
sub-bottom profiler designed for
rapid deployment and ease of use.
Lightweight and robust with low power
consumption, the system contains a newly designed
transducer and hydrophone which is combined with
state-of-the-art, adjacent transmit and receive
electronics to outperform any other system in the
same size and weight class.
The GeoPulse Compact OTS is designed for use in
shallow water and can work at depths less than 1
metre by receiving on the hydrophone while the
transducer is active.
The system is shipped with the latest version of
Chesapeake SonarWiz© software, for control,
visualisation and data processing.
Efficient power and acoustic performance
Low power requirements combined with strong acoustic output enable reliable sub-bottom profiling from smaller platforms, reducing vessel demands while maintaining consistent data quality across a range of survey conditions.
Established technology with global support
Built on the proven GeoPulse technology platform, the system is supported worldwide through experienced partners, ensuring reliable operation, consistent data standards, and access to technical expertise across a wide range of survey environments.
Compact design for flexible deployment
Lightweight, rugged construction and over-the-side deployment enable rapid mobilisation on vessels of opportunity, supporting efficient operations in nearshore, inland, and confined environments without complex installation or handling requirements.
High-resolution subsurface performance
High-resolution imaging and up to 80 m penetration enable detailed mapping of sediment layers and buried features, supporting confident interpretation for engineering, dredging, and environmental surveys across shallow and coastal environments.
Applied data for diverse sub-bottom surveys
High-quality sub-bottom data supports applications including pipeline detection, dredging assessment, and geological mapping, providing reliable insight to inform planning, risk reduction, and asset management across marine projects.
