Cable Reels
Sonar Accesories
Durable cable management reels for tether deployment, storage and protection.
Supports multiple tether configurations
Reels for a range of tether sizes and interface requirements covering different systems and operational needs.
Protects critical electronics
Optional hub enclosures help safeguard interface electronics while maintaining easy access for inspection and servicing.
Removable hub assembly
Simplified maintenance without requiring cable removal or complete reel disassembly.
Open or enclosed options
Available as open-frame reels or mounted within protective cases to suit different transport and deployment requirements.
Lightweight, durable construction
Aluminium and stainless-steel components provide strength and corrosion resistance while remaining practical for field handling.
Reliable cable management
Designed to support controlled deployment, retrieval and storage of tethered equipment in demanding marine environments.
Compact and durable tether reels for marine deployment operations
The Sea Otter Reel range provides a practical solution for tether deployment, retrieval and storage across a wide range of marine operations. Available in multiple sizes, the reels support different tether capacities while maintaining a compact footprint for vessel, dockside or mobile deployment.
Constructed from aluminium and stainless steel, the reels are designed for long-term use in demanding marine environments. They can accommodate a variety of tether diameters and may be configured with slip rings and hub enclosures for interface electronics where required. Available as either an open-frame reel or mounted within a protective transport case, the system can be adapted to suit operational preferences. A removable hub enclosure allows access to internal components for inspection and servicing without requiring the tether to be unspooled, helping minimise maintenance time and simplify routine support activities.
Tether Compatibility
The reel design supports a range of tether sizes and configurations, allowing it to be used with different vehicle, sensor and communications requirements. Compatibility with slip rings and interface electronics provides additional flexibility where continuous connections are required.
Hub Enclosure
An optional water-resistant hub enclosure provides a protected location for tether interface electronics. The enclosure can be removed independently from the reel, allowing inspection, maintenance or upgrades to be carried out without removing the cable from the drum.
Deployment Options
Reels are available in open-frame configurations or mounted within protective transport cases. This flexibility allows operators to select the most appropriate arrangement for vessel installations, portable operations, storage requirements or equipment transportation.
Durable Construction
Manufactured from aluminium and stainless steel components, the reels are designed to withstand repeated use in challenging marine environments. The robust frame construction provides long-term durability while helping protect the tether and associated equipment during deployment, recovery and transport.
Multiple Reel Sizes
The range includes compact and higher-capacity reel options to suit different tether lengths and operational requirements. Larger drum dimensions support increased cable storage while maintaining straightforward handling and deployment characteristics in the field.
